Since its inception in 1990, BAC Dance has come to be an integral part of the robust hip-hop presence in the performing arts community that makes Princeton so unique. As a PAC company, we constantly push ourselves to explore new styles of hip-hop, build creative artistic visions, and perform our best. At the same time, we strive to maintain our ties to the Black arts and incite cultural dialogue on movement from the diaspora. BAC not only embodies the hip-hop talent Princeton has to offer, but also showcases Princeton’s commitment to diversity in culture and dance, the reward of exploring one’s passion, and the sense of community we build as the “purple family.”

"I first saw BAC perform at This Side of Princeton when I came to visit for Princeton Preview. That was the April before my freshman fall began. I was immediately drawn to the dope gear everyone had on, the lit music, and just the vibe of the group. I knew when September came around, I was going to audition. I was pushed beyond my comfort zone in the short 3 hours of auditions, but it was undeniably worth it. I felt surrounded by a genuine love for dance, and after learning that I actually got into BAC, I was even happier because everyone was so warm, welcoming, and they made dancing fun. I auditioned because I felt that this company would push me to be a better dancer, and it gave me so much more. Not only have I grown in different styles of dancing, I’ve also met some of my closest friends, learned some valuable skills after taking on multiple board positions, and learned what it’s like to be taken in by a community like the purple fam. We truly strive to do our best and put on amazing shows every semester, but we also turn up just as hard. As the current president, I believe that being a part of this company is an unmatched experience at Princeton, and after meeting so many alumni, I can say BAC is forever."
